Welcome to
Festival of the Winds 2020
On the 42nd anniversary of Festival of the Winds, the wind has blown in a different direction and so must we.
Due to COVID-19, there won’t be thousands of kites on Bondi Beach this year, but we couldn’t let this year pass without commemorating this iconic day in our spring calendar.
From its humble beginnings 42 years ago, Festival of the Winds has become one of the most popular cultural events in Sydney and now we can share it with the world as we go online.
This year, we’re bringing our beloved festival directly to you; with on-demand videos, online galleries, live performances, workshops and activities for the entire family to enjoy at home.
We would love you to show us how you’re celebrating Festival of the Winds this year – whether you’re in your backyard or at a local park, show us your snaps by tagging
